Love this spot!
Coming from Brooklyn, NY it's been difficult to find a reliable, flavorful West Indian spot. Like, really difficult lol...One day though, I stumbled into Ocho Rios and I was for sure surprised.
Whoa! this jerk sauce is hot af and I love it.
The Oxtails fall right off the bone, the peas and rice will make you want to get a side order to go. Great service, good people.. My new go to. -

Really wanted this experience to be good. Visiting all the way from Arizona had my mother visiting from jamaica and wanted to show her Cali/Hollywood
found this Jamaican spot on yelp .....read mixed reviews and thought I'd still try.
First my spouse ordered a TING... server mistakenly brought out a cup of tea lol
that was the first sign. Myself and my spouse to include mom got our food and ours (myself and spouse) was Luke warm. Sent it back to be warmed up. My daughters meal came out like ten to 15 minds after ours ..... and when her fried chicken (what my daughter ordered) came out it was very suspect looking. I tasted it and it tasted like the meat was spoilt as in rotten. Prior to this the owner had came out and apologized for my daughters food being late and I must say she was polite.but the food itself was absolutely not up to par at all.
This place has great potential in terms of location ..... but NO Real Jamaican would support this place.... I can most certainly make way better Jamaican food than what this place served. It was an extreme disappointment. I must say the owner was very polite but giving me excuses that the fried chicken was a southern style as to the reason why it tasted the way it did was a very lame attempt to pick up for whatever that cook made in the kitchen
.... I've had southern fried chicken and it doesn't taste rotten. I paid full price only because regardless of whatever it's a business and the lights must stay on. But please .... get on top of your service .... this was most likely my worst Jamaican restaurant experience. -

Best jamaican food in town. This place really lives up to its name The oxtails actually taste like your back in Ocho Rios, Jamaica having dinner at a local restaurant. They are tender, the spicy sauce is flavored with delicious jamaican spices that make your taste buds start to dutty wine! Rice and peas compliment the dish very well. The sweetness from the plantains helps balance all the flavors out.
What more can I say other than try it out for yourself and be sure to wash it down with a kola champagne! #onelove -

I have gone here twice. So, far the food has been very delicious. I have posted pictures of the two times I have visit this place. Both the jerk chicken and fried chicken were great. I feel like you get more chicken with the jerk chicken. The sides are great too. I like the macaroni. They give big portions. You will get full.
The wait time on the food preparing is okay. The first time I waited the 20 minutes. The second time I only waited like 8minutes or so. They probably just mocrowave my food or something.
The food here is kinda pricey. I think I spend like $20, on one meal, both times for one person. It is pricey because it is either authentic or they don't get enough customers so they increase the price. -

Service is always great. It seems they cook to order most entrees, so be prepared to wait unless you order the meat pies. I've had most of their sides and the ox tails. (I can't eat spicy food). The flavor never disappoints. Recently their prices increased, so it is, a bit more than I would pay for this kind of entree regularly. If you're OK to splurge every now and again, give them a try.
Cabbage along with their rice and peas are two of my favorite sides.
